Today was most definitely a good day. It involved to various extents warm socks, happy texts messages, donuts, ballet slippers, long conversations with smart people, finishing up long-procrascinated tasks, a trip to the library, and, of course, tea.  But one of the things that made me most deliriously happy was discovering the existance of this: www.amazon.com/Wintersmith-Discworld-Terry-Pratchett/dp/0060890312 . That moment of enlightenment actually occurred at the bookstore at the Merchandise Mart this afernoon and it caused me to make all kinds of suqeaky noises.

Cause, you know, it's THE WITCHES!!! And Nanny Ogg is without a doubt my idol. And Granny Weatherwax simply rocks. And if this means nothing to you, then you need to come over here right now so that I can explain to you that everyone needs to be reading Terry Pratchet books at all times because 1) they foster an increased understanding of the myserious culture of people with British accents, 2) they often contain hilarious footnotes (One, Two, Three, Many!) 3) they have dwarves. Hot ones, even.

So this is going to be the next item on my reading list.  It's going to be an interesting contrast to the Chuck Palahniuk book I'm reading right now to say the least...
